Fund for Women and Girls 11th Annual Luncheon

Guests at last year's luncheon celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Fund for Women and Girls. Photos from this year's luncheon will be available soon.
On Thursday, April 8, more than 750 supporters made a difference for women and girls in their own backyard by joining friends at the Fund for Women and Girls 11th Annual Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich.

Gail Collins, The New York Times op-ed columnist and author, charmed guests with her witty, insightful and provocative remarks on the challenges women have overcome in the past 50 years.

Loreta Daka, a single mother and student in the Family Economic Security Program, brought the guests to tears as she thanked them for making it possible for her to get the business education she will need to open her own flower shop and support herself and her two children. (See Loreta's Story)

This year’s luncheon theme, “Charting the Path to Possibility,” highlighted the power of helping women overcome obstacles and turn their dreams into reality. When you help a woman improve her life, you also set in motion positive change for her children, her extended family, her community and society.

Since 1998 Fund for Women and Girls supporters like you have made it possible for struggling Fairfield County women to move into safe and affordable housing… for girls find to their voices, make healthy choices and develop the skills and confidence to become leaders… and for low- and mid-wage women supporting dependents achieve economic security. Who knows how far the ripples of your generosity will travel? Learn more.
