How do I support the areas of greatest need?


The landscape of Fairfield County is constantly changing, with new challenges and needs arising on a regular basis.

The Foundation's discretionary funds are a great way to provide support that is flexible and can be directed where it is most needed.

Another way to ensure your gift benefits the entire community is to support the Foundation's work by making a gift to our Fund for Community Leadership.

You can give online with a credit card, or mail a check to the Fairfield County Community Foundation, 383 Main Ave, 4th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851-1543.

Be sure to include the name of the fund you are making a gift to in the memo line of the check.

How do I make a gift to an existing fund?

There are several ways to make a gift to an existing fund at the Foundation. You can give online with a credit card, or mail a check to the Fairfield County Community Foundation, 383 Main Ave, 4th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851-1543.

Be sure to include the name of the fund you are making a gift to in the memo line of the check.

How do I know my gift is being used wisely?

The Foundation's Board of Directors is made up of community leaders who ensure our assets are properly managed and our grants honor the wishes of our donors and support our strategic plan.

Our financial management is led by professional managers and overseen by a team of highly qualified volunteers focused on producing steady, long-term growth.

The Foundation's staff is made up of experts in their fields dedicated to the mission of the organization and improving and strengthening the communities of Fairfield County. We lead community initiatives focused on achieving real change and work with the top experts in the field, state and local officials, leaders from the nonprofit community and other funders to develop smart philanthropy that makes the most of every dollar.

How do I check my fund balance?

As a donor advised fundholder, you receive quarterly statements showing your fund balance, gift and grant activity and the amount you currently have available to spend.

You can also receive the latest information at any time by contacting our philanthropic services department.

How do I add to my fund?

There are several ways to grow your fund balance. You can give online with a credit card, or mail a check to the Fairfield County Community Foundation, 383 Main Ave, 4th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851-1543.

Online gifts can be set up as one-time contributions, or you can set a monthly recurring contribution to be automatically charged to your card.

When writing a check be sure to include the name of the initiative you are making a gift to in the memo line.

How do I recommend a grant?

You can recommend grants of $500 or more from your donor advised fund at any time during the year.
